The new Mi-Sex album ‘Not From Here’ is a benchmark for the band. ‘Not From Here’ is the first Mi-Sex album in 33 years.

When Mi-Sex played Melbourne recently it was not an old audience. In 2016 Mi-Sex now have fans that weren’t even born when their last album was released and a lot of them would have children now. Mi-Sex is that classic example of music passing through generations.

‘Not From Here’ features Steve Balbi on vocals. Balbi (ex-Noiseworks) has fronted Mi-Sex since 2011. The band’s original singer Steve Gilpin died in 1992, after delivering four albums that define where Australia and New Zealand was musically in the early 80s.

The first Mi-Sex album ‘Graffiti Crimes’, announced the arrival of the band with ‘But You Don’t Care’ and later, what would become the band’s signature song ‘Computer Games’ was added to the album.

Mi-Sex 2016 features original members Don Martin on bass, Murray Burns on keyboards, Paul Dunningham on drums and Colin Bayley on guitar with Balbi on vocals and Travis New on guitar.

Mi-Sex Not From Here‘Not From Here’ was released a two weeks ago by Golden Robot Records and made the Top 100 in its first week of release.
