Nick Cave Exhibition To Open In Copenhagen

A Nick Cave Exhibition, featuring items on load from Arts Centre Melbourne, will open in Copenhagen in March 2020.

Stranger Than Kindness – The Nick Cave Exhibition’ features over 300 objects sourced from the Nick Cave archive at Arts Centre Melbourne, Nick’s personal collection, a number of private collectors and the Royal Danish Library.

The exhibition was developed and designed by Janine Barrand of Arts Centre Melbourne with Christina Black of the Royal Danish Library. “As the custodian of a large part of Nick Cave’s collection since 2006, we have a deep attachment and connection to the many objects that Nick Cave has entrusted us with. Our ongoing collaboration with Nick is something we treasure and we are extremely proud to be involved in this exhibition,” Janine Barrand said in a statement.

The collection includes original artwork, handwritten lyrics, literature, photography, videos, set designs, and collected personal artefacts are shown in a shifting, immersive narrative across eight rooms.

Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition Black Diamond – Royal Danish Library Søren Kiergaards Plads, Copenhagen, Denmark 23 March – 3 October 2020 Monday – Friday 10am – 7pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm, Sunday closed.
