Out On The Weekend Sydney Cancelled

by Paul Cashmere on October 19, 2015

in Live,News

Sydney’s Out On The Weekend festival scheduled for this coming Saturday has been cancelled.

Poor ticket sales were cited as the reason for the cancellation.

Out On The Weekend was to feature Kasey Chambers, Dawes, Jonny Fritz, Jamestown Revival, Ruby Boots, Mustered Courage, Barna Howard, Shelly Colvin, The Morrison, Oh Reach, James Thomson and William Crighton with the Out On The Weekend house band lead by Robert Ellis.

The new Australian festival launched in Melbourne in 2014 and was instantly accepted as one of the cities new alternative places to be.

“Apart from an incredible day out, Out On The Weekend is about musical discovery and trust,” said Love Police’s BT. “I travel the world and spend a lotta time listening to new music both abroad and down the street. This event allows me a platform to introduce newcomers and future superstars I find, as well celebrating those acts that have made it in the field. Trust me. Some of their names may be new, but their talent will make your musical day. Open your ears, minds and hearts to quality. We won’t let you down”.

In a statement on the Facebook page punters were told, “We regret to inform you that Out On The Weekend 2015 – Sydney on Saturday 24th Oct 2015 has unfortunately been cancelled”.

A word from the Promoter:
“We regret to advise that due to less than anticipated ticket sales, we are no longer proceeding with Out On The Weekend at Bella Vista Farm on October 24. While our expectations were not huge, we are greatly surprised at the lack of sales and cannot proceed both financially or logistically with the number of tickets sold.”

For those who purchased tickets to the Sydney event, Oztix will automatically refund the ticket price directly back to the credit card on which the order was purchased. It can take up to 5 – 10 working days for a refund to be processed back to the card.

As a form of compensation and a thank you for your support of the Sydney event, we are happy to offer Sydney ticket holders a free ticket to a couple of shows by international acts Sam Outlaw, Jonny Fritz & Shelly Colvin and Jamestown Revival in Sydney at Newtown Social Club that were to play the festival.
