Melbourne’s finest musicians have come out to contribute to Peter Farnan’s ‘Pesky Bones’. The album also features vocals from Tim Rogers, Deborah Conway, Sean Kellyharlies Jenkins, Emily Lubitz, Simon Burke, Paul Capsis, Ali Barter, Otto Rot and Sarah Ward aka Yana Alana.

“I love the way their diverse styles and points of view – of gender, age, personality, attitude – all speak to each other across the songs. Singers like Deborah (Conway) and Tim (Rogers) bring wisdom, focus and adventurousness in their approaches. My friends from the theatre world (like Paul Capsis and Sarah Ward) have the ability to be gentle, mysterious and then expressively explode. With this suite of singers I just mixed the chemicals then stepped back and let it fizz and combust,” Peter said in a statement.

Peter crowd-funded the album. “The project has so far been in the crowd funding phase; shrouded in mystery, it’s now time to set it free,” he said. “The perspective keeps changing, from male to female and beyond. As we get older we don’t necessarily sink into a dull middle-aged miasma. I was never limited to one sound, one style. Sometimes I wanted to explore tenderness, sometimes restlessness, sometimes something more abstract or hard edged. As a listening experience the record constantly refreshes itself.”
