R.I.P. Television Pioneer Rose-Marie, Star of the Dick van Dyke Show, Dies At 94

Rose-Marie, who rose to worldwide fame as Sally Rogers in The Dick Van Dyke Show, has died at the age of 94.

Rose-Marie played Sally Rogers in the iconic TV series for five seasons from 1961 to 1966. She started her career as a child singer and actor in 1929 and made 17 recordings between 1930 and 1938.

Rose-Marie was married to trumpet player Bobby Guy from 1946 until his death in 1964.

She has appeared in the television shows ‘Gunsmoke’, ‘The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis’, ‘The Monkees’ and ‘My Three Sons’.

Her last appearance was in ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited’ in 2004. The show reunited the surviving original cast.

Mary Tyler Moore died on January 25, 2017. Morey Amsterdam died 27 October 1996, Richard Deacon died 8 August 1984. The shows namesake Dick Van Dyke is now 92 years old. Larry Mathews, who played his son Ritchie in the show, is 62. The show’s creator Carl Reiner is alive at 95.
