Rage To Run Malcolm Young Special This Saturday

Australian music TV show ‘Rage’ will right a night of Malcolm Young this coming Saturday morning (Friday night).

The Rage Malcolm Young special will kick off at 12:24am on ABC TV.

The ABC presser says:

Paying tribute to all of the late Malcolm Young’s contributions to rock is no easy task, but we’re sure as hell gonna try with a night fully stacked with AC/DC classics.

The exceptional rhythm guitarist, who co-founded AC/DC with his younger brother Angus at the age of 20 in 1973, was seen by his bandmates as the driving force behind the band for more than 40 years and played a pivotal role in creating some of our greatest memories and anthems of Australian rock.

His inventive rhythm guitar sound and storming riffs were there from the band’s beginnings, from the early days of ‘Highway to Hell’ to the birth of their rough-as-guts pub rock classics like ‘Back in Black’, ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’, ‘Dirty Deeds’, ‘Jailbreak’ and ‘For Those About To Rock We Salute You’.

It saddens us to hear of Malcolm’s passing, but it gives us no greater honour than to pay homage to one of Australia’s most treasured artists. RIP, Malcolm. We salute you!

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
