Brisbane’s Sheppard have cancelled their Bluesfest appearance so they can continue their USA and European tour.

Sheppard performed for the Jimmy Fallon Show this week and will tour North America with Meghan Trainor.

Bluesfest Festival Director, Peter Noble, said “Sheppard’s manager, Michael Chugg, called me and explained the situation of how things are taking off for the band in Europe and the USA, and they have booked a number of big TV appearances supporting the album. I want to do anything I can to promote young bands on their way to the top, so we have agreed to let them continue their European promotional run, and hope to see them back again in future years.”

In a statement, Sheppard broke the news to fans, “It is with great disappointment that recent scheduling conflicts have forced us to withdraw from the lineup of this year’s Byron Bay Bluesfest. It is one of the best festivals anywhere in the world and we are sorry that we won’t be back in Australia sooner to play for our wonderful home country fans. We hope that you all really enjoy the festival and we will see you again soon!”

Sheppard will perform with Meghan Trainor in Seattle this weekend and continue across America until March 17 when they play Boston. Then its off to Europe.

Sheppard’s hit song ‘Geronimo’ has been a Top 10 hit in 12 countries.

Bluesfest Melbourne Day Two was a rollercoaster ride. There was so much great music packed into one day that it was impossible to see it all. I expected and received absolute stunning performances from blues legend Buddy Guy and Americana royalty Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle but it’s the least expected that makes you walk away wanting more.
