Struggling Sydney Austereo station 2DAYFM has lost another breakfast show host with former Bardot pop star leaving the ailing station not long after former Spice Girl Mel B walked out the door.

Mel B left the show in August with the only public reference made to her departure being the removal of her name from the station website.

Monk has been more vocal about her decision to quit the show with her management confirming to The Daily Telegraph about her decision to not renew her one-year agreement with the station as 2DAYFM draws to an end of his worst ever ratings year.

2DAYFM ratings were decimated after the Australian Radio Network rebranded Sydney’s MIXFM as KIIS and poached the top rating breakfast team of Kylie Sandilands and Jackie O over to KIIS. 2DAYFM fell to its lowest ratings ever and did not recover all year.

The Australian Radio Network is also the home of iHeartRadio.

2DAYFM took an expensive gamble with its 2014 breakfast show signing up the pricey 4-piece line-up of Sophie Monk, Mel B, Merrick Watts and Jules Lund.

Monk made her name as a member of manufactured girl group Bardot, created for the Australian reality TV show Popstars. Bardot generated six Australian Top 20 hits starting with ‘Poison’ in 2000.

In 2002 Monk released her debut solo album ‘Calendar Girl’ and scored at Top 5 hit with ‘Inside Out’.

In 2004 she made her acting debut playing Marilyn Monroe in the tele-movie ‘The Mystery of Natalie Wood’. She also appeared that year on the Blink-182 video for ‘Always’.

Monk’s Hollywood break came when she was chosen to appear in the horror spoof ‘Date Movie’.

2DAYFM’s breakfast show is now left with just Watts and Lund. The station is yet to reveal its plans for 2015.
