The Warrnambool Red Hot Summer Tour featuring Jimmy Barnes has been cancelled because Jimmy will be performing with Bruce Springsteen at the Hanging Rock shows.

The Red Hot Summer Tour was to route its way through Warnambool on March 24 with Jimmy Barnes, Baby Animals, Ian Moss, Dragon and Chocolate Starfish.

Tour rep Duane McDonald said in a statement, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Jimmy, something the team at the Red Hot Summer Tour support 100 per cent. Unfortunately, due to scheduling and timing, the revised date of Sunday 24th March was outside of the peak holiday period, which affected ticket sales, forcing us to cancel the Warrnambool gig for 2013.”

The show has been cancelled, not postponed.

“Warrnambool has always been one of the first show dates we lock in for each annual Red Hot Summer Tour,” he said. “When we start working on the dates for the 2014 tour, we will look at Warrnambool as one of the first cabs of the rank, and hope to make a date work for that run. I want to take this opportunity to thank patrons for their ongoing support of this tour.”

Ticket holders need to contact their point of purchase for a refund.

The Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Australian tour will start in Brisbane on March 14.

Dates are:

March 14 and 16, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
March 18, 20, 22, Sydney, Allphones Arena
March 24, 26, 27, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
Match 30, 31, Woodend, Hanging Rock
