Tame Impala Currents Tops Billboards Alternative Chart

Tame Impala have the number one album in the USA on Billboard’s Alternative chart.

‘Currents’ had an overall debut at no 4 on the album chart but debuted on top of the Alternative Albums as well as Tastemaker Albums.

‘Tame Impala ‘Currents’ debuted at no 1 in Australia last week with 11.415 sales making it the third fastest selling album of 2015 so far in Australia.

The first week album sales of 2015 in Australia are:

1. Florence + The Machine – ‘How Big How Blue How Beautiful’ (15,706)
2. Muse – Drones (12.047)
3. Tame Impala – Currents (11,415)
4. Mumford & Sons – Wilder Mind (11,038)
5. Hermitude – Dark Night Sweet Light (10.352)
6. Meghan Trainor – Title’ (9,631)
7. Kendrick Lamar – To Pimp A Butterfly (8,958)
8. Hillsong – United ‘Empires” (7,778)
9. Soundtrack – Fifty Shades of Grey (7,449)
10. John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John – Two Strong Hearts (7,118)
11. Madonna – Rebel Heart (6,962)
