Paul McCartney always despised what producer Phil Spector did with the original ‘Let It Be’ album and in 2003 approved the release of the ‘Naked’ album minus the lush Spector production.

“If we’d had today’s technology back then, it would sound like this because this is the noise we made in the studio,” said Paul McCartney upon Let It Be… Naked’s 2003 release. “It’s all exactly as it was in the room. You’re right there now.”

The ‘Let It Be … Naked’ album featured a different song order to the original album. ‘Dig It’ and ‘Maggie Mae’ were deleted from the 2003 album and ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, not included on the original, was added.

“When I first heard it, it was really uplifting,” said Ringo Starr. “It took you back to the times when we were this band, the Beatle band.”

The iTunes LP includes approximately 20 minutes of bonus studio banter audio, historic photography of the studio sessions, and transcribed excerpts from The Beatles’ studio dialogue which first appeared in the original LP package for Let It Be.

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
