The Rolling Stones Perform You Gotta Move In Atlanta

in Live,News

The Rolling Stones have centred the current Zipcode US tour on the 1971 classic ‘Sticky Fingers’ album and treated Atlanta to a rare performance of ‘You Gotta Move’.

‘You Gotta Move’ was the Mississippi Fred McDowell blues cover at the end of side one of the original vinyl album. The Stones played the song for the first time since 1976 at the secret club show in LA. This was the first time it has been played at a regular Stones show in almost 40 years.

Until a few weeks ago, the last time the Stones performed ‘You Gotta Move’ was at Knebworth in the UK on August 21, 1976.

Another rarity in the Atlanta set was ‘Some Girls’, performed for the first time since 2007 and only performed for the fourth time since 1999.
