Radiohead/Atoms For Peace singer Thom Yorke has partnered with the new live music platform soundhalo.

Soundhalo allows uses to watch a live performance and download the gig track by track as it happens.

Yorke will allow his London concerts next week with Atoms For Peace to become available in real-time through the soundhalo platform. Atoms For Peace is Yorke’s Radiohead side-project supergroup with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, producer Nigel Godrich and drummer Joey Waronker with percussionist Mauro Reforsco.

Last week, Yorke made a very vocal departure from the Spotify platform claiming the service rips off artists with lack of payment.

Soundhalo seemed the right alternative for Atoms For Peace. In a statement, Godrich said, “Part of the reason soundhalo was interesting to me was that I found myself wondering why, whenever you go to a gig, the next day there are a million shaky, horrible sounding YouTube videos already online. But you go and look because you want to see something of your experience. Soundhalo provides something really functional – an experience that you want to remember in front of you as soon as the concert has happened. To be able to relive that is a really great thing.”

UK band Alt-J also recently used the platform to distribute live music in real-time to fans.
