Hamilton was suffering from a chest infection and went home to recover. In his place, bass player David Hull was flown in from the USA to take Tom’s place at last night’s show at Melbourne’s Myer Music Bowl.

Hamilton played with Aerosmith on Saturday, April 20 for the band’s Stone Music Festival appearance and again in New Zealand last week.

Hull has filled in for Hamilton before. He is a founding member of Dirty Angels and played with Joe Perry’s side-project The Joe Perry Project. David Hull is also a film and TV composer. His music is heard in the soundtrack to NCIS.

Hull will most likely stay with Aerosmith for the final two Australian shows. Hamilton will return to Aerosmith and continue the ‘Global Warming’ tour when he recovers.

Aerosmith will perform two more shows in Australia with The Dead Daisies.

Dates are:

May 1, Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
May 4, Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
