Soundwave promoter and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker have made peace with each other after a Twitter war flare-up that saw AJ accuse Barker of extorting $1.5 million.

Barker was a last minute withdrawal from the Soundwave Festival citing his fear of flying as the reason he would not come to Australia but AJ accused Barker of still taking his $1.5 million fee despite his no-show.

Maddah said that he would still have to pay Blink 182’s $5 million fee even though 1/3 of the band was not coming. “I’m told we can’t refund and there will be no discount on the $5m fee because @travisbarker insisted on being paid in full.”

He then accused Barker of extortion. “What he has done to Tom and Mick is extortion. He thinks he’s a fucking gangster.”

After the two put down their keyboards and picked up the phone they were both good. “Spoke with ‪@iamnotshouting All is G and this was a HUGE lack of communication. AJ is a stand up guy and we both were given wrong information,” Barker tweeted later.

Soundwave started in Brisbane today with Metallica, Blink 182, Linkin Park, Slayer, Anthrax, A Perfect Circle, Garbage, Paramore, Stone Sour, The Offspring and Cypress Hill.
