Twisted Sister is no more. The band played their final show last Saturday night at Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico, ending their “Forty and Fuck It Tour” which began on June 10 at the Sweden Rock Festival.

The band decided to call it quits last year after the death of drummer A.J. Pero. Mike Portnoy sat in on drums for the final trek.

Twisted Sister was born out of the band Silver Star which formed in 1972. Dee Snider joined in 1976 while the band was still playing in clubs. They released their first album, Under the Blade, in 1982 and put out a total of seven studio albums including a Christmas set in 2006. Among their biggest hits were We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock, both from their album Stay Hungry (1984).

The entire set came from their first four albums which were released one per year between 1982 and 1985. Stay Hungry was the most played with five out of the thirteen songs in the set. Three each were from Under the Blade and You Can’t Stop the Rock ‘n’ Roll while two were from Come Out and Play.

Before the show, Snyder tweeted “After 40 years, the final @TwistedSisterNY show is tomorrow night. Glad to cross the finish line, sad to see it end.”

Later in the week, he reassured fans that it was not over for him. “Friends fear not! My personal and creative calendar is overflowing! Can barely catch my breath! Shooting video for new album this weekend!”

The set list:
What You Don’t Know (Sure Can Hurt You) (from Under the Blade, 1982)
The Kids Are Back (from You Can’t Stop the Rock ‘n’ Roll, 1983)
Burn in Hell (from Stay Hungry, 1984)
Destroyer (from Under the Blade, 1982)
