Former Black Flag and Rollins Band frontman Henry Rollins pulled Cyndi Lauper on stage with him last night to play Black Flag’s Rise Above, while Marilyn Manson invited Lauper to do his 1996 single The Beautiful People.

The unlikely pairings happened during Lauper’s annual Home For The Holidays concert, which benefits homeless and at-risk LGBTQI+ youth.

While on stage, Rollins said “I was in a band and that band had a song that talked about never relenting, that talked about going into insurmountable odds without fear, knowing that you’re gonna win because you’re right. And I figured it’s the perfect soundtrack for tonight,” before introducing his “very talented friend” Cyndi Lauper.

Rise Above has the ferocious lyrics “We are tired of your abuse, try to stop us, but it’s no use!”

Marilyn Manson darkened Lauper’s hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun before she joined him for The Beautiful People.

Lauper also joined Belinda Carlisle for True Colours, Ke$ha for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Perry Farrell for Lauper’s Money Changes Everything.

Home For The Holidays is in its ninth year of raising money for LGBTQI+ youth homelessness.
