Many think the True Blood theme ‘Bad Things ‘ is by Chris Isaac. Nope, it’s by the equally-charismatic Jace Everett.

Indiana-born Everett has the right story: he’s a rambling swamp-bluesman who learnt to play the devil’s music in church, was a truck-driver, then travelled throughout the South, peddling his sultry wares.

After two well-received albums, his third Red Revelations housed what was to become his signature tune – ‘Bad Things’. It took off and introduced him to the world with its husky come-on “I wanna do bad things to you”.

We talk to the dry-witted Everett (and his guitarist Dan Cohen) about the song, the journey, the light and dark in country music, and the opportunities since, including his new album Mr. Good Times.
