After more than 25 years since his last Noise11 interview, Pinky Beecroft sits down with Paul Cashmere to discuss his remarkable return to recording with his new solo album Lonesome Wolf.

In this conversation, Pinky explains how a single recording session with Melbourne producer Damian Cafarella unexpectedly became a full album, why he never stopped writing songs despite stepping away from recording, and how Lonesome Wolf became the beginning of an entirely new chapter in his career.

He also talks about recording a new version of the Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses, collaborating with Queenie and Gabrielle Parker, revisiting the classic Machine Gun Fellatio song Unsent Letter, balancing new material with fan favourites in his live shows and the overwhelmingly positive reception when Machine Gun Fellatio reunited with TISM.

The interview also explores Pinky’s years working as a television writer on productions including Sea Patrol, Underbelly, Vanishing Act and Warnie, and why songwriting remains his favourite creative outlet.

Finally, Pinky reflects on the future of Machine Gun Fellatio and whether fans should expect anything more from one of Australia’s most unique bands.
