Robin Fox is the architect behind the RGB Laser Show, part of New Wave: Sound, one of the highlights of the new Vivid Music program at Vivid Sydney.

Fox is a mathematical genius with a doctorate and for the RGB Laser Show puts sound to music via algorithms.

New Wave: Sound was handplaced into Vivid Music by curator Andrew Batt-Rawden. “They are all at the forefront of their practice and embrace experimentalism in their own way,” explains Batt-Rawden. “It’s going to be quite a wild trip for anyone who goes. In terms of audio you will be glimpsing very much what is happening at the cutting edge of music practice internationally.”

“If you’re not versed in experimental music, brace yourself. It’s divisive. Some of it is really challenging, but that is the really cool part about it; you get to argue about that with the mates you go with. Which parts were amazing and why? It’s an experience that’s going to be unlike anything else you go to this year.”
