Rose Carleo joins Paul Cashmere for a new Noise11 interview to discuss the powerful story behind her new album 42 Days.
In this Noise11 conversation Rose Carleo reveals the deeply personal meaning behind the album title, explaining how the project became part of her healing process after the unexpected loss of her sister in 2024. She talks openly about grief, songwriting and the moment the title track 42 Days unexpectedly arrived six weeks after her sister’s passing.
Rose also discusses her creative partnership Mick Atkins, detailing how the pair build songs together through riffs, melodies and shared ideas. She reveals that the writing process for 42 Days produced enough material that a second project is already beginning to take shape.
Paul Cashmere and Rose Carleo also dive into the rock influences across the album, from classic Australian pub rock energy to AC/DC connections. Rose explains the story behind Son of God, a song dedicated to Ross Young, son of AC/DC legend Malcolm Young, and discusses Eulogy For The Devil, her tribute to Elvis Presley.
