Birdy was just 15 when her hit ‘Skinny Love’ became one of the world’s biggest hits in 2011.
Now at 17, the BRIT Award nominee Birdy has revealed the brand new official video for her forthcoming single ‘Words As Weapons’, out on April 14 via Atlantic Records.
Since releasing her UK top 10 album Fire Within last year, Birdy has been touring the globe, performing her soaring songs to the masses. Speaking about the new single ‘ an emotive, guitar-tinged, ethereal number ‘ Birdy commented – ‘Words as Weapons is one of my favourite tracks on the album and I love performing it live. I love the way the track is layered with harmonies which creates a wall of sound. I’m hugely proud of the song.’
In addition to the single news, Birdy has become one of the new faces of GAP’s global spring 2014 ‘Lived-In’ advertising campaign where she is joined by a cast of emerging and talented young artists including musicians, singers, actors and photographers from US and UK. Birdy is joined by the likes of Anna Calvi, RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Julia Garner, Ernest Green and more.
