Jimmy Barnes will perform at the 2016 Logie Awards in Melbourne.

2016 marks the 25th anniversary of Jimmy’s biggest seller ‘Soul Deep’ and will coincide with the release of a new album of soul covers ‘Soul Searchin’ due in June.

“I’m very happy to be playing at the Logies – the biggest night on the Australian television calendar,” the 60-year-old says. “I’ll be playing a song recorded in Nashville for my new album. It’s going to be a great night,” Jimmy said.

Jimmy is also working on two books to be published by HarperCollins. The first is titled ‘Working Class Boy’ about his childhood.

The second book will be published in 2017. It will tell the story of the singer’s ongoing career and the merry-go-round of fame, drugs and rehab across the Cold Chisel, solo and soul years.

TV Week editor Emma Nolan said, “Jimmy is Australian music royalty. We’re unbelievably excited to have Jimmy take to the TV WEEK Logies stage this year. There’s no doubt it will be an unforgettable performance.”

The 58th TV Week Logie Awards will be held at Crown in Melbourne on May 8, 2016.
