Lita Ford, who started her four decade career as one of the Runaways, will release her memoir followed by a new album.

According to Ford, Living Like a Runaway: A Memoir will have its US/Canada release on March 7 followed by an international release of April 11; however, Amazon is still listing February 23 as the release date. Ford says of the book “I’ve had a life full of ups and downs, each turn more extreme than the last. Thankfully, I’ve had you, my incredible fans, behind me each step of the way.”

There are sure to be a few explosive parts of the book, dating back to her Runaways days and throughout the many years since. According to the New York Post, Ford provides a long list of mentors and/or lovers including Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Dee Dee Ramone, John Entwhistle, Eddie Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore and Glenn Tipton.

She also talks about her relationship with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, one that she alleges turned violent on more than one occasion including one incident where he supposedly choked her unconscious.

Then, on April 15, Ford will release her latest album, Time Capsule, one that she says “turns back the clock to a time when honest, down-to-earth rock music was still handmade and recorded without digital tricks and contraptions. Time Capsule is a ”throwback” record that includes some of my greatest friends and rock idols including: Billy Sheehan (bass), Rodger Carter (drums), Dave Navarro (mandolin), Jeff Scott Soto (vocals), Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander (backing vocals) and Gene Simmons (bass).”

Lita Ford joined the Runaways at the age of 16 and was with them until their breakup in 1979. Since then, she has release eight studio albums (Time Capsule will be her ninth) and had a top ten hit with Close My Eyes Forever (with Ozzy Osbourne, 1989 / #8 Pop / #25 Mainstream Rock). She has also recorded with Twisted Sister, Geoff Tate, former bandmate Cherie Currie and others.
