Singer Phil Collins insists his actress daughter Lily Collins is “just friends” with pop musician Nick Jonas, following reports the two young stars have struck up a romantic relationship.

Rumours surfaced on Wednesday (03Feb16) suggesting the Jealous singer and Mirror Mirror beauty had turned their longtime friendship into a romantic one, with editors of Usmagazine.com claiming they recently started seeing each other.

The site reported they enjoyed a date at a bowling alley in Los Angeles before heading off to ski together at a resort in Mammoth Lakes, California, noting although Nick and Lily like each other, their romance is “not exclusive” yet.

And now Lily’s famous father is setting the record straight in an interview with Yahoo!, insisting his daughter is not dating the hunky singer.

“I’m not sure what Nick looks like,” the musician joked. “But Lily called me the other day and she was in Mammoth where all this was happening. ‘I’m here with a friend,’ she told me, and said, ‘It’s not serious. It’s just friends.'”

The former Jonas Brothers singer has been romantically linked to a number of famous women in recent years, including Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Delta Goodrem, while Lily has dated actors Jamie Campbell Bower, Zac Efron and Taylor Lautner.

Nick was most recently rumoured to have enjoyed a fling with Kate Hudson, but he has remained coy on the true nature of their relationship.

He told Complex magazine, “My current situation is that I’m very much single, but I’m trying to be as open to people who can inspire me in some way.

“Out of my best effort to respect (Kate) and her privacy, I’m not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She’s amazing.”
