Niall Horan is overwhelmed by the response to One Direction’s new single Perfect, which was released on Friday (16Oct15).

The boys had been teasing the track for some time and finally unveiled it on Nick Grimshaw’s breakfast show on Radio 1.

Fans were beside themselves with excitement, which has caused Niall to reach out to them on Twitter.

“the reaction has been amazing all day so far.. Thank you (sic)” he posted.

The song’s lyrics have certainly got people talking, with many speculating they were penned about Harry Styles’ brief fling with Taylor Swift. It’s believed Taylor’s tracks Style and Out of the Woods from her latest album reference her romance with the curly-haired heartthrob and now he might just have got his own back.

“And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out / (Oh, yeah) / And if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about / Baby, I’m perfect / Baby, we’re perfect,” Harry, Niall, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson croon.

But Harry hasn’t commented on the claims, instead simply tweeting: “’Perfect’ is out now.”

It’s the second track taken from upcoming album Made in the A.M., due out in November (15), following hit Drag Me Down. It will be their first record since Zayn Malik left the band in March (15), with the boys recently addressing his departure.

“One Direction was never really Zayn’s bag if you know what I mean,” Liam candidly told UK TV show Good Morning Britain. “His taste in music was a bit different and I guess that’s what drove him to do what he did in the end, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

“Everyone’s come out fine from it, thanks to our beautiful fans. And he’s off doing what he loves as well, so both parties are winners in the end of a disaster of a situation. It’s all good.”
