Rolling Stones Have 9,000,000 Facebook Fans

The Rolling Stones Facebook page has just gone past the 9 million fans mark and Keith Richards has posted for a picture showing off the achievement.

A photo of Keith holding the message “9,000,000 Stones Fans’ has been uploaded to The Stones Facebook site.

‘Thanks to everyone of you Facebookers who like the Rolling Stones. It’s only rock and roll but we love you!,” states the post.

So far the picture has had 51,063 likes and 5,795 shares.

Next month marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Rolling Stones. It was April, 1962 when Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards formed the band. Bill Wyman joined in December, 1962. Charlie Watts joined in January, 1963.

The band played their first ever gig as The Rollin’ Stones on July 12, 1962 at the Marquee Club.
