As The Stranglers approach 50 years since they formed in Surrey, UK in 1974, the legacy of the band continues with the heart and soul founding member Jean-Jacques Burnel and stalwart guitarist since 2000 Baz Warne.

The most recent Stranglers album ‘Dark Matters’ was the 18th for the band but it was also a bittersweet release. It was the first to not feature founding member Jet Black, who retired in 2015 and passed away in 2022. It also features the last work of Dave Greenfield, who joined the band in 1975 and played on every album before his passing in 2020.

Jean-Jacques Burnel and Baz Warne remain committed to The Stranglers and have a run for Australian dates in April 2022.

Baz spoke with Noise11.com’s Paul Cashmere.
