Australian Charts : Eminem ‘Kamikaze’ Spends Sixth Week At No 1

It’s a fourth week at No.1 for the Eminem set “Kamikaze” becoming the third longest run at No.1 during 2018 on the albums chart.

“Kamikaze’s” fourth week at No.1 puts it behind the two longest running sets for the year in “÷ (Divide)” (6 weeks) for Ed Sheeran and soundtrack for “The Greatest Showman” (8 wks), while this is now the 31st accumulated week at No.1 for Eminem moving him to outright 13th on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums (1965 to 2018), one week behind the 32 weeks racked up by both Michael Buble and Delta Goodrem. While for this decades similar listing (2010-2018) he is now fifth on the listing (16 weeks in total), pulling ahead of Taylor Swift and her fifteen weeks at No.1 this decade.

Drake holds at No.2 again this week with his “Scorpion” set, while back up two places to No.3 is that aforementioned “÷ (Divide)” for Ed Sheeran, swapping places with “Sweetener” for Ariana Grande which is down two places to No.5. Debuting in between those two at No.4 is the latest album for former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash along with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and their third collaboration “Living the Dream”, which becomes Slash’s fourth Top 10/5 album and fifth overall entry.

The US hip-hop group Brockhampton see their fourth album “Iridescence” enter at No.6 this week, not only becoming their first Top 10 entry but also their first entry at all, as last year they issued three albums all called “Saturation” (1, 2 and 3) to no chart success here. After which there are stable positions for “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack and “Beerbongs and Bentleys” for Post Malone at No.7 and No.8 respectively. The fifth studio album “I Love Songs” comes in at No.9 for the Blue Mountains hip-hop trio Thundamentals, becoming their fourth albums chart entry and now third Top 10 set, with their February 2017 set “Everyone We Know” being their highest charted at No.2. The fourth and final Top 10 debut this week is new at No.10 and is the fourth album and first self-titled for the Brisbane alt-rock act Dead Letter Circus, becoming their fourth Top 10 album (all three previous studio albums peaked at No.2) and sixth overall entry (4 studio, 1 EP and 1 Live album).

UP:
* Taylor Swift’s pending tour in a couple of weeks keeps pushing her “Reputation” album back up, this week rising four spots to No.22.
* The soundtrack for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1″ is back up seven spots to No.28, while further climbing soundtracks are for “Molly” (71 to 54), “Working Class Boy” for Jimmy Barnes (83 to 68), and ‘Guardians Vol.2’ (75 to 74).
* Ahead of it’s just re-issued expanded and updated edition the Cold Chisel collection “All for You-Best of” is back up thirteen places to No.46, while other best of’s climbing are for INXS (58 to 47), Red Hot Chili Peppers (90 to 75), The Foo Fighters (93 to 89), Crowded House (returns at #93) and Fleetwood Mac (Very Best of returns at #98).
* Aled Jones climbs again this week with “One Voice: Believe”, up seven to No.50.
* Back up ten places to No.77 is The Hilltop Hoods set “Drinking…Walking…Restrung”.
* Further returning albums are “Rumours” for Fleetwood Mac at No.99 and the self-titled debut album for Dua Lipa at #100, which is newly certified Gold (●) in sales and about to be re-issued as a double album.

DOWN:
* The XXXTentacion second album “?” (HP-2, WI10-12a) is down one spot to No.11 after its return last week, and all three of last weeks Top 10 entries leave this week in “7” for David Guetta (HP-9, WI10-1) down six to No.15, “East Atlanta Love Letter” (HP-6, WI10-1) for 6lack drops thirteen spots to No.19 and Carrie Underwood debuts at No.1 in both America and Canada with “Cry Pretty” (HP-4, WI10-1), which here plummets twenty-two spots to No.26, while she is also in the country at the moment too.
* The Troye Sivan set “Bloom” wilts a further nine spots to land at No.25.
* Pink and her “Beautiful Trauma” drops down eight to No.27, while her “Greatest Hits… So Far!!!” is on hold at No.29.
* Tash Sultana drops ten places to No.32 with her debut album “Flow State”.
* Mac Miller halves his position from last week, dropping seventeen spots to No.34 with “Swimming”.
* Khalid’s rise last week with “American Teen” is back down eight this week to No.38.
* The Tony Bennett and Diana Krall debut from last week “Love is Here to Stay” only slides down nine places this week to No.41.
* After being 6xP for the past year and a half, the debut Ed Sheeran album “+ (positive)” joins his second and third album as a Diamond ♦ certified album (500,000 sales), and is down three places to No.52.
* BTS fall a further ten places this week to No.57 with “Love Yourself: Answer”.
* Paul McCartney plummets thirty-five spots to No.60 with his latest album “Egypt Station”.
* The Amity Affliction slump fifteen places to No.65 with their recent No.1 set “Misery”.
* There’s a twenty place slide to No.66 for Human Nature’s “Romance of the Jukebox” set.
* Gang of Youths will release their MTV Unplugged Live album at the end of October and their 2017 No.1 album “Go Father in Lightness” is down thirteen spots this week to No.69.
* Maroon 5 drop ten spots to No.73 with “Red Pill Blues”.
* Phil Collins collection “The Singles” falls down eleven spots to No.76, with further falling collections being for The Wiggles (67 to 80) and Jason DeRulo (82 to 85).
* Eminem’s set “The Eminem Show” drops down twenty places to No.84, while he also leaves the Top 100 with “Revival” (#80) and “Recovery” (#88).
* Migos slump fourteen spots to No.86 with their “Culture II” set.
* Skegss debuted at No.2 three weeks ago with “My Own Mess”, which this week plummets forty-five spots to land at No.88.
* Why Don’t We fall another fourteen spots this week to No.90 with their debut album “8 Letters”.
* Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” falls ten spots to No.94, while her set “My Everything” leaves (#89) the chart.
* Kanye West falls down twenty-nine spots to No.95 with his former No.1 set “ye”.
* Albums leaving the Top 100 from last weeks Top 50 were by Good Charlotte (#24), Jungle (#28) and Dreams (#42).

FURTHER NEW ENTRIES:
* #14 (LP#8) – Bridges by Josh Groban is the eighth studio album and first to feature new material since his sixth set “All That Echoes” in 2013 (LP#6, HP-11) and this becomes his eleventh overall entry here (8 studio, 2 live and one best of).

* #33 (LP#40) – Piano and A Microphone 1983 by Prince is the first posthumous album since the singer passed away in April of 2016, with the recording found in the Paisley Park vaults on a single cassette recorded in one take in 1983 by Prince in Chanhassen, Minnesota, with the album containing nine tracks one of which is the pre-released ‘Purple Rain’ track (this was issued in mid-1984).

* #48 (LP#4) – On the Corner Where You Live by The Paper Kites is the Melbourne five-piece indie-rock/folk acts fourth studio album and third to chart, having previously entered with “States” (LP#3, HP-17, Sept 2013) and then “TwelveFour” (LP#2, HP-8, Sept 2015), while earlier this year they also issued the set “On the Train Ride Home”.

* #55 (LP#4) – Proper Dose by The Story So Far is the second entry for the American rock band who saw their third self-titled set debuted and peak at No.35 in June of 2015.

* #62 (EP#2) – Binge (EP) by Machine Gun Kelly is a new EP featuring his current chart entry “Rap Devil” (HP-45, TW-57) and it becomes his third overall albums chart entry after “General Admission” (LP#2, HP-38, Oct 2015) and “Bloom” (LP#3, HP-37, May 2017).

* #81 (LP#13) – Redemption by Joe Bonamassa is the US bluesman’s thirteenth studio album and his second to chart here, as his last set “Blues of Desperation” debuted and peaked at No.17 in April of 2016.

* #82 (LP#5) – The Church of Simultaneous Existence by The Aints! is a group formed by Saints ex-member and soloist Ed Kuepper put together in 1991 and they released four albums between 1991 and 1994 (1 live and 3 studios), and now Ed has reformed the group which performs primarily his Saints songs from 1973-1978.

* #87 (EP#4) – Sick Boy… This Feeling (EP) by The Chainsmokers is the bands fourth EP and features many of their tracks released since their last EP “Sick Boy…Side Effects” was issued in April, with current single “This Feeling” with Kelsea Ballerini debuting at No.49 this week.
