Isabella Manfredi of The Preatures sits down with Paul Cashmere for her first-ever Noise11 interview, marking the 10-year anniversary of the band’s breakthrough album Blue Planet Eyes. In this in-depth conversation, Izzi reflects on the album’s legacy, its unexpected influence on other artists, and the emotional complexity of celebrating a record that, for now, is the band’s first studio album.
Manfredi discusses the creation of the Blue Planet Eyes 10th anniversary exhibition at Rainbow Studios, which grew from a simple photo idea into a fully immersive archive of posters, scrapbooks, stage clothing and memorabilia. She candidly addresses the vulnerability involved in lifting the veil on the band’s history and explains why fan interaction became a core part of the exhibition design.
The conversation also explores the new live album Blue Planet Eyes – Live From Northcote Theatre. Izzi reveals why the band chose a single show over a multi-show compilation, how Jack Moffitt approached the mix using classic rock live albums as reference points, and why the Melbourne crowd became a character of its own.
Izzi speaks about covering Prince’s When You Were Mine, her early scrapbooking obsession, the abandonment of a planned Angels cover due to lyric slip-ups, and the rediscovery of deep cuts from the debut record. She also recalls major festival appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Jimmy Kimmel, describing them as surreal, storm-eye moments she knew would never be repeated.
Looking ahead, she confirms The Preatures are now working on a long-awaited third album following a healthy break that has recharged the band creatively. She also previews their upcoming 2026 schedule, including Twilight at Taronga, while ruling out another exhibition for the 2027 Girlhood anniversary. This is The Preatures stepping forward again – with purpose, energy and a new chapter on the way.
