Avril Lavigne's Hello Kitty Obsession Leads To Her Singing Song In Japanese

Avril Lavigne reveals she is obsessed with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty products.

The 28-year-old Canadian crooner, who is currently engaged to wed fellow musician Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, can’t get enough of the cute Japanese line.

Avril has even written track Hello Kitty, which will be sung in Japanese, about the brand for her forthcoming album.

“I love Hello Kitty so much there’s a song on the record called Hello Kitty. Pink is my favourite color… I’m really excited about this song,’ she gushed to Ryan Seacrest during his On Air radio show Tuesday.

‘I’m obsessed with Hello Kitty and it’s really fun and the sound is different.”

Avril did not confirm whether Hello Kitty will serve as a motif at her and Chad’s upcoming nuptial ceremony.

In any case, the star is very much looking forward to celebrating her union with loved ones.

“It’s kind of just a lot of close friends and family. It is smaller. It’s gonna be quite spectacular and there’s a theme to it. But Chad doesn’t even know everything,” she detailed.

“It was just one of those things we knew. We met in the studio and he proposed in the studio. He had taken a photo of himself holding the ring box [and put it in my scrapbook]. He put in ‘Will you marry me?’ It was really romantic and it kind of made sense. We met making the record… and he got down on one knee.”

Avril was wed once before to Sum 41 singer-and-guitarist Deryck Whibley. They officially divorced in 2010 after tying the knot in 2006.
