Eddie Vedder was joined by Paul Schafer and the CBS Orchestra to sing out David Letterman in his final week before retirement.

Vedder sang a powerful and emotional solo version of his Pearl Jam classic ‘Better Man’ for Letterman.

David Letterman is calling it quits this week almost 22 years of the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS. From 1982-1992 Letterman hosted ‘Late Night With David Letterman’ on NBC and prior to that The David Letterman Show on morning TV in 1980.

Letterman was given one of his first TV gigs from his mate Robin Williams who cast the then unknown comedian in an episode of Mork & Mindy.

Letterman’s final musical guest will be Bob Dylan on Wednesday. Last week Tom Waits sang a song he wrote especially for David on the show.
