WSFM And Gold1043 Rebrand As Pure Gold

Sydney’s WSFM and Melbourne’s Gold 104.3 have rebranded to together become the new Classic Hits Pure Gold Network.

For the past six months the top rating Australian Radio Network stations have been undergoing a shift in music bringing on more 90s and 00s with artists such as Robbie Williams, U2, AC/DC, No Doubt and INXS.

The rebrand is aligning the network more solidly with the 40-55 demographic in Sydney and Melbourne and comes immediately after the major relaunch of Sydney’s MixFM as KIIS 1065.

“Continuing on with the launch of KIIS 1065 in Sydney this year where we created an incredibly strong and engaging offering for the 25 – 44 demographic, we now take the next step in strengthening our brand for the 40 – 54’s. This rebrand is evidence of ARN’s continued belief in both Jonesy and Amanda and Brig and Lehmo and our investment in marketing is testament to, what we know, are world class stations and shows,” National Content Director Duncan Campbell said in a statement.

For the past nine years, Sydney has woken up to Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller on Breakfast and in Melbourne for the past five years Brigette ‘Brig’ Duclos and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann have consistently delivered high ratings on Gold.

“We don’t want to toot our own horns – ok, yes we do… we think it’s fairly safe to say our show is relatable; a fun mix of information, entertainment and banter,” Jonesy and Amanda said. “And the music we play on WSFM are the soundtracks of our listeners lives, our own lives in fact, and have helped celebrate our milestones and continue to make us feel great right now.”

Brig and Lehmo see themselves as Melbourne’s tastemakers. “That taste just so happens to be our taste, which makes coming to work each day pretty fantastic. It means we have a lot of fun giving our listeners what they want,” they said.

The Australian Radio Network reaches over 4 million listeners across Australia and is the number one network targeting 25-54 year olds.

ARN also features iHeartRadio, the only digital music service that combines custom music and live radio, covering 1000 live radio stations across all ARN, New Zealand’s TRN and Clear Channel’s US stations.
