Adele Skyfall Becomes First Bond Theme To Win A Golden Globe

Adele has picked up her first Golden Globe Award for her theme song to the James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’.

Adele won the award Best Original Song beating Taylor Swift who was nominated for ‘Safe and Sound’ from The Hunger Games, Keith Urban for ‘For You’ from ‘Act of Valor’, Jon Bon Jovi for ‘Not Running Anymore’ from ‘Stand Up Guys’ and ‘Suddenly’ from Les Miserables.

Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ is the first Bond theme to win a Golden Globe. In previous years, Bond song nominated have been Sheena Easton ‘For Your Eyes Only’, Duran Duran ‘A View To A Kill’, Carly Simon ‘Nobody Does It Better’, Madonna ‘Die Another Day’ and Sheryl Crow ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’. None won.

Bond classics ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, both by Shirley Bassey and ‘Live and Let Die’ by Paul McCartney were not even nominated.

‘Skyfall’ has also been nominated for an Academy Award.
