Beverly Owen, who played Marilyn Munster in the first 13 episodes of the series, has died at the age of 81.

Beverly left The Munsters after 13 episodes to marry American writer, director and producer Jon Stone, who went on to became part of Sesame Street and help develop Cookie Monster, Oscar The Grouch and Big Bird. They divorced in 1974 after eight years.

Beverly worked on the soap Another World. She played Dr. Paula McCrea for nine months in 1972.

Beverly’s The Munster co-star Butch Patrick, who played Eddie Munster, posted to Facebook “Beautiful Beverly Owen has left us. What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her. RIP Bev and thanks for your 13 memorable Marilyn Munster episodes”.

Beverly died after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Pat Priest, the second Marilyn, and Butch Patrick (Eddie) are now the only surviving members of The Munsters cast.

Fred Gwynne (Herman) died in 1993, Yvonne De Carlo (Lily) died in 2007, Al Lewis (Grandpa) died in 2006.
