Chris Brown has been ordered to complete 1,000 hours of community labour.

The 24-year-old singer attended a court hearing in Los Angeles Friday afternoon to answer to questions about a potential probation violation.

Prosecutors were seeking to have the star’s probation rescinded after Chris was involved in an alleged hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles back in May, according to the Associated Press.

A deal was struck behind closed doors in the judge’s chambers.

Prosecutors agreed to withdraw the request on the condition Chris would be required to perform additional community labor, including graffiti removal and highway work.

Chris avoided up to four years in prison earlier this week when the hit-and-run case was dismissed.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office brought the case against the singer despite the alleged victim, identified as Olga Gure-Kovalenko, stating she did not wish to pursue a claim, according to TMZ.

The woman initially alleged Chris refused to hand over his insurance and driver’s licence information at the scene. Damage caused to her vehicle was described as minor.

Chris pled not-guilty to the hit-and-run charge last month.

He remains on probation for his 2009 assault conviction stemming from an altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

According to this Palm Beach accident lawyer, the two of the misdemeanours originally brought against the musician by prosecutors – driving without a valid licence and no proof of insurance – had already been dismissed.
