New Zealand roots-reggae band Corrella will tour Australia in January and February 2027 with Boston outfit The Elovaters, taking their expanding live show to 10 venues across the country.

Corrella will return to Australia in January 2027 for their biggest Australian headline run to date, bringing US roots-reggae band The Elovaters with them for a 10-date tour that will stretch from Geelong to Margaret River.
The Aotearoa eight-piece will open the tour at The Wool Exchange in Geelong on 24 January before travelling through Wollongong, Newcastle, Burleigh, the Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Fremantle. The final show is scheduled for The River in Margaret River on 7 February.
The tour gives Australian audiences a chance to see Corrella following a period in which the band has expanded well beyond the success of its breakthrough song, ‘Blue Eyed Māori’.
That track became one of the defining New Zealand songs of 2023 and has spent more than 50 weeks at number one on the Official NZ Top 20 Singles chart, according to the supplied tour information. It also became a major streaming and radio success in New Zealand, establishing Corrella as one of the country’s most prominent new roots-reggae acts.
The Australian dates will also showcase material from the band’s second album, Skeletons, released in November 2024, as well as newer material including the 2026 single ‘Not I’.
‘Not I’ continues Corrella’s blend of reggae, pop and roots influences, while the band’s catalogue has increasingly incorporated te reo Māori. Earlier songs including ‘Raumati’ and ‘Ko Au (I Am Me)’ were recorded in Māori, with ‘Ko Au (I Am Me)’ written by lead vocalist Pipiwharauroa Campbell about his experience of rediscovering pride in his cultural identity.
The band’s history makes its rise particularly distinctive. Corrella was formed in 2017 by members of the Royal New Zealand Navy serving around Auckland’s Devonport Naval Base. The name comes from Corrella Road in Belmont, where Navy housing provided a connection to the band’s early rehearsals.
The group initially released ‘Summertime in Aotearoa’ in 2020, followed by the Corrella EP in 2021. Their debut album, Road From 26, followed in 2023 and introduced the wider audience to the band’s combination of South Pacific influences, reggae, funk, soul and pop-rock.
Since then, Corrella have built their reputation primarily through live performance. They have toured New Zealand and Australia, appeared at major New Zealand festivals and shared stages with acts including UB40 and L.A.B. Their 2024 album Skeletons extended that momentum, while ‘How Will I Know’ became another significant New Zealand streaming and radio track.
The Australian tour will also introduce audiences to The Elovaters, the Boston-formed roots-reggae band whose career has followed a different path but shares Corrella’s emphasis on live performance and reggae-influenced songwriting.
The Elovaters’ 2018 album Defy Gravity reached number one on the Billboard Reggae chart and the iTunes reggae chart. Their catalogue has subsequently accumulated more than 600 million streams worldwide, while their recent album Shark Belly Motel has taken them further into the US touring and festival circuit.
The band recently performed a sold-out headline show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado before touring the United States with Slightly Stoopid. Their Australian visit will be their opportunity to introduce that live show to audiences alongside Corrella.
For Corrella, the Australian dates represent another step in a rapid progression that began with a group of Navy musicians rehearsing in Auckland and developed into one of New Zealand’s most successful contemporary roots-reggae stories.
