Brisbane's new outdoor concert event On The Banks expands its 2026 program with a diverse slate of support acts across QPAC's South Bank season.

Brisbane's riverside concert series, On the Banks, has unveiled a new wave of international and Australian talent set to perform at the Cultural Forecourt at South Bank across February and March 2026. The series, a collaboration between Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and South Bank Corporation, promises warm summer nights filled with music, food, and community energy along the Brisbane River.

Grace Jones will headline the latest expansion of the Palace Foreshore 2026 program as Melbourne prepares for the arrival of one of the most influential cultural figures of the past five decades. Jones will perform on Monday 2 March, her first Australian appearance since 2018, bringing a force of theatrical energy that has defined her global impact.

Music legend, fashion icon and film star Grace Jones delivered a stunning performance to close her curated edition of the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown festival. Held over nine incredible days of live shows and free activities with over 20,000 tickets sold across the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Rooms, this year’s line-up featured nearly 70% global majority artists with over half of performers either women or non-binary artists.

Visibly ecstatic to be performing for an audience that has had to wait two years to see her live Meltdown performance due to cancellation and delay caused by the pandemic, Grace Jones opened the festival with an imperious performance full of her characteristic style, splendour and spell-binding stage presence.

Over the next three months Wendy Matthews fans will have the chance to see her sing the songs of Paul Simon, make her first ever public performance of ‘You’ve Always Got The Blues’ with Kate Ceberano for Apia and sing at a very special show with Little River Band founder Glenn Shorrock in Little River, the Victorian town LRB was named after.
