All 26 shows on Powderfinger’s 2027 Australian reunion tour have sold out after the general public onsale, with more than 300,000 tickets gone in six days. Extra shows are being locked in for fans who missed out.
Powderfinger’s 2027 Australian reunion tour is completely sold out. Every seat across all 26 dates has been claimed following today’s general public onsale, with more than 300,000 tickets snapped up in just six days.
The demand has eclipsed the band’s 2010 Sunsets Farewell Tour onsale.
Organisers describe the response as extraordinary and a clear demonstration of how deeply the group’s catalogue remains embedded in Australian lives.
Bernard Fanning spoke on behalf of the band. “We are still gobsmacked by the response to this tour,” he said. “A few weeks ago I was in the ballot for Radiohead tickets. It was BLOODY STRESSFUL and I was eventually lucky enough to be able to buy some. So I understand what a difficult process it can be when you’re trying to juggle work, kids and life in general. So, we are going to put together another string of shows in select destinations that allows as many people as possible to get their hands on tickets. Please keep the faith and be patient. We are just as excited to see YOU as you are to see us. Love BF xx”
The current itinerary covers Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, with multiple nights in most cities. All dates are now marked sold out. The team behind the tour is already working on a final encore run of shows that will close the tour. Details will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.
Powderfinger, Dew Process Artist Management and Cornershop Agency are presenting the tour in association with Live Nation. The band and crew have thanked everyone who secured tickets and acknowledged the disappointment of those who missed out. They have asked for patience while the extra dates are finalised.
The 2027 dates will also support Mission Australia. The organisation works with people experiencing homelessness, a cause the band has linked to family violence, mental health challenges and financial hardship. Funds and awareness will be raised across the tour, with further partnership details to be released later.
Powderfinger last toured Australia on the 2010 Sunsets Farewell run. The new shows mark their return to major outdoor and stadium-scale venues more than a decade and a half later. The speed of the sell-out underlines the enduring pull of songs that have soundtracked generations of Australian listeners.
Fans who missed the first round of tickets are being urged not to lose heart. Extra shows in select cities are being assembled and will be announced shortly. In the meantime the original 26-date run stands fully sold out.
