Roger Waters has stepped aside from performing to let his son Harry steer a major new production of Pink Floyd’s 1970s catalogue across more than 100 shows in 2027.

Roger Waters is handing the stage over to his son. In 2027 Harry Waters will lead a 10-piece band through a carefully directed production of Pink Floyd music drawn from the band’s most celebrated decade, while his father remains the creative force behind the scenes.
The tour is called Legacy – A Pink Floyd Show. It focuses exclusively on material from 1971 to 1979, the stretch that produced The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Roger Waters has shaped the concept and the visual presentation. He will not appear on stage. Harry Waters, 49, takes the role of musical director, playing B3 organ, piano and contributing vocals while guiding the ensemble through more than two hours of music each night.
The aim, according to Harry, is fidelity. “We are going to authentically recreate the albums as close to note-for-note as we possibly can,” he has said. After a lengthy search, Clifton David Broadbridge was chosen to handle the distinctive lead vocals associated with Roger Waters’ work. High-definition LED screens will carry imagery developed by Roger’s long-time visual team, drawing on the original Pink Floyd graphic language without simply recycling it.
Roger Waters framed the project in straightforward terms. “These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years, and I’m excited for audiences to come together and experience them live again,” he said. “Harry has assembled a terrific band, and I can’t wait for fans around the world to see the special show we’ve created together.”
For Harry the music has never been distant. He first appeared on a Pink Floyd record as a two-year-old, the child’s voice that opens “Goodbye Blue Sky” on The Wall. He later joined his father’s touring band in 2002 and remained part of those line-ups for many years. Beyond the family connection he has built his own career as a pianist, Hammond player, jazz musician and film and television composer. The new production, he has said, feels like a natural continuation rather than a novelty.
“I fell in love with the music immediately. It really had an impact on me, irrespective of any bias because it was Dad’s music. I still love it deeply to this day. Collaborating with Dad on this new production is such an honour, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to bring this music to fans old and new, around the world.”
What distinguishes Legacy from a conventional tribute show is the direct involvement of the principal songwriter and conceptual architect of the material. Roger Waters retains creative oversight. Harry Waters, who knows the repertoire from both childhood exposure and professional performance, is entrusted with the nightly execution. The result sits in a relatively rare category: an authorised, family-led presentation of a classic catalogue that no longer requires the original performers to appear on stage.
The scale is substantial. More than 100 dates are planned across North America and Europe. The setlist draws only from the four albums of the designated “golden era,” giving the evening a focused dramatic arc rather than a scattershot greatest-hits approach. For audiences who never saw Pink Floyd in that period, and for those who did, the production offers a chance to hear the music presented under the supervision of the man who wrote the bulk of it and directed by the son who grew up inside it.
Tickets for the announced North American dates went on sale in early October. UK tickets became available shortly afterwards. The full itinerary continues to expand as additional European cities are confirmed.
