Eloise joins Paul Cashmere for a Noise11 interview about her second album, My Man And Me, the emotional extremes behind her songwriting and her return to Australia to open her global tour.

The English singer-songwriter discusses how My Man And Me developed from a single song into an album that brings her back to the musical instincts that first defined her. She explains why the title came to her before the rest of the record was written, how advice from her friend Matt Maltise gave her the confidence to trust her natural songwriting voice, and why working with long-time creative partner Slim Gabriel allows her to experiment without fear of getting things wrong.

Eloise also opens up about writing songs drawn from her own experiences, the emotional intensity of falling in love and heartbreak, and the challenge of building a live setlist as her catalogue grows. She talks about her smoky vocal style, the concerts that helped shape her voice and why she is now more conscious of protecting it.

Her remarkable journey into music began as a child actor in the film Broken. Eloise recalls discovering her musical calling while working with Damon Albarn, whose willingness to experiment and disregard conventional rules continues to influence her approach to songwriting. She also reflects on leaving the BRIT School after connecting with Bruno Major and learning from Sam Smith’s demanding touring production and disciplined vocal-care routine.

Finally, Eloise explains why Australia holds a special place in her life, recalling a formative trip to Sydney and New South Wales when she was 15. Returning three years after her previous visit, she is delighted to begin her global tour in a country that has welcomed her so warmly.

Watch the full Noise11 Q&A with Eloise as she discusses My Man And Me, songwriting, creative freedom, musical influences and her connection with Australia.
