Craig David will return to Australia in May 2027 for the Born To Do It World Tour, performing his multi-platinum debut album in full across Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.

The five-show Australian run follows two sold-out performances at London’s Hammersmith Apollo earlier in 2026, where David performed the album from beginning to end with his full live band for the first time.

David said the response to the London performances prompted him to take the full-album production to international audiences.

“26 years ago, Born to Do It changed my life,” David said. “My two shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo earlier this year were such an incredible vibe, and they meant so much to me. Playing the album front to back with my band for the first time brought back so many amazing memories.”

He added that the experience had inspired him to take the show around the world, including a return to Australia.

The tour will feature the complete Born To Do It, alongside career hits including 7 Days, Walking Away, Fill Me In, Rewind and Rise & Fall. The set will also include material from his more recent catalogue, including his ninth studio album, Commitment.

Released in 2000, Born To Do It established David as a major figure in the crossover between British R&B, garage and mainstream pop. Its combination of melodic songwriting, programmed rhythms and David’s conversational vocal delivery helped distinguish him during a period when UK garage was moving beyond its underground club audience.

The album reached number one on the Official UK Albums Chart and number two on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. Its international success was driven by singles including Fill Me In, 7 Days and Walking Away, songs that helped introduce David’s distinctive sound to audiences well beyond Britain.

The record went on to sell more than eight million copies worldwide, according to the figures supplied for the tour announcement, and achieved multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries. Its commercial performance established a foundation for a career that has continued across recording, touring and television appearances.

The album’s influence has also been revisited through its anniversary editions. A 25th anniversary reissue was released in December 2025, including a double gold vinyl edition and a digital package featuring additional material, B-sides and remixes. The release provided another opportunity to revisit the original recording and the music surrounding its early success.

David’s career since the debut has included 14 BRIT Award nominations, two Grammy Award nominations, multiple MOBO Awards and three Ivor Novello Awards. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to music.

His live work has also developed beyond the conventional concert format. TS5, which began as a series of private parties in Miami, evolved into a performance concept combining DJ sets, live vocals and club music, taking David into festival and arena settings. The experience has given him another way to connect his R&B catalogue with dance music audiences.

For the Australian tour, however, the central focus returns to the album that began his international career. Performing Born To Do It in sequence offers audiences the opportunity to hear the record as a complete work rather than as a collection of singles separated across a greatest-hits set.

The May 2027 dates also give Australian audiences the chance to hear the album’s original material alongside the songs that have sustained David’s career over more than two decades. The five-city itinerary covers the country’s major east coast markets before concluding in Perth.
