Japanese pop group f5ve and South Korean electronic-pop artist THE DEEP will make their Australian live debuts with all-ages shows in Melbourne and Sydney this October.

Tokyo pop group f5ve and South Korean electronic-pop artist THE DEEP will perform their first Australian shows in October, with dates confirmed for Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on October 8 and Sydney’s Manning Bar on October 9.
Presented by AETERNA and TEG Dainty, the two-show run brings together artists whose musical worlds have already intersected through THE DEEP’s remix of f5ve’s “Magic Clock”. The collaboration appeared on f5ve’s expanded SEQUENCE 01.5 release, establishing a connection that will now move from recorded music to the stage.
f5ve were formed around a concept of “inter-dimensional dream agents”, with the Tokyo-based group combining pop performance with a science-fiction-inspired identity. The lineup brings together SAYAKA, KAEDE, MIYUU and RURI, previously members of Happiness and E-Girls, alongside RUI from iScream. Grammy Award-winning executive producer BloodPop® is also part of the project.
The group’s 2025 debut album, SEQUENCE 01, draws from J-Pop, dance, rock, funk and electronic music. Songs including “Underground”, “UFO”, “Magic Clock” and the Kesha collaboration “Sugar Free Venom” established the project’s musical and visual direction. SEQUENCE 01.5 subsequently expanded the album.
THE DEEP approaches electronic pop from a different point in the Asian pop landscape. The South Korean artist incorporates UK garage, Y2K influences and electronic production while operating independently of conventional K-pop structures.
Following the 2025 release KPOP B!TCH, THE DEEP continued her recording campaign in 2026 with “LA GIRLS” and “Kiss Me Better”. Her songwriting work has also extended beyond her own catalogue, including a contribution to ILLIT’s “It’s Me” and work with KiiiKiii.
THE DEEP has also taken her performance internationally, appearing at SXSW London and performing alongside FKA twigs. Her live work forms part of a broader independent electronic scene in South Korea that sits alongside, rather than entirely within, the established K-pop system.
The Australian shows provide a first opportunity for audiences in Melbourne and Sydney to see both projects together. The pairing also reflects the increasingly international connections between Japanese pop, Korean electronic music and Western dance and pop production.
Tickets are scheduled for general sale on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00am AEST. An AETERNA and artist presale is scheduled for Monday, September 7 at 10:00am AEST. The supplied announcement lists September 8 as “Thursday”, although September 8, 2026 falls on a Tuesday.
