Foo Fighters, Tame Impala in for Austin City Limits

The Austin City Limits Festival has announced the lineup for its 14th annual gathering with Australia’s Tame Impala making the list as well as Foo Fighters.

Started in 2002, the festival started as a one weekend event but was allowed by the Austin City Council to move to two weekends starting in 2012. This year, the dates are October 2 to 4 and 9 to 11.

Headliners this year include Foo Fighters, Drake, the Strokes and Florence + the Machine. Like Coachella, the lineups for both weekends are mostly the same; however, this year the Strokes and Alabama Shakes will only play the first weekend while Florence + the Machine and Modest Mouse will take their places for weekend two. A number of smaller acts are also only playing one of the two weekends.

The line-up also includes Billy Idol, Dwight Yoakam and Asleep at the Wheel.
