Frontier Touring and Melbourne Park have launched SUPAGLOO, a new all-ages concert series designed to connect young audiences with emerging Australian artists, with the first two events scheduled for December 2026 and April 2027 at MCA at Melbourne Park.

The quarterly series will begin on Thursday 10 December with electronic pop duo 2charm, Melbourne trio Blusher and performer Robert Baxter, alongside a DJ set from triple j Breakfast hosts Abby and Tyrone. The second event, scheduled for Friday 2 April 2027, will focus on contemporary R&B, featuring Ballarat-born singer Larissa Lambert, ZIPPORAH and Filipina-Chilena DJ 1SA.

SUPAGLOO is intended to provide a recurring platform for new Australian music, with future editions planned around school and university holidays. The organisers have positioned the series as an opportunity for younger audiences to discover developing artists in a live setting, rather than relying solely on streaming services and social media to find new music.

The initiative also brings together two established live entertainment operators to create a dedicated space for emerging talent at Melbourne Park, a venue complex better known for major sporting events and large-scale concerts.

Frontier Touring chief executive Dion Brant said the series would give young audiences an opportunity to encounter developing artists early in their careers.

“SUPAGLOO is about giving young fans a front-row connection to the artists shaping the future of Australian music,” Brant said.

“There is extraordinary breakthrough talent coming through this country, and this series creates a space where fans can discover those artists early, up close and in a live setting built for them.”

Brant said Frontier Touring’s experience in artist development, combined with Melbourne Park’s venue infrastructure, would support the next generation of performers and audiences.

Melbourne Park chief executive John Harnden said the partnership reflected the organisation’s interest in developing live music opportunities alongside its established sporting and entertainment events.

“SUPAGLOO reflects our commitment to creating opportunities for Australian artists and connecting new audiences with great music experiences,” Harnden said.

The December programme brings together artists working across alternative pop, electronic music and club culture.
2charm, the duo known for dance-focused electronic pop, have been building their profile through international performances and a recent support slot for Slayyyter. Their music has also involved producer Ninajirachi, whose work has helped connect Australian electronic music with a wider international audience.

Blusher, the Melbourne pop trio, have developed a live show combining choreography with energetic, dance-oriented songs. Their recent touring history includes support appearances for Kesha, a performance on the main stage at Laneway Festival and an upcoming role opening for Robyn on her arena tour.

Robert Baxter brings a different perspective to the first event. The Melbourne-based producer, dancer, DJ and model has developed a performance identity informed by club culture, fashion and queer communities. Their releases STARGIRL and PARTYANIMAL have attracted online attention, while their live work has included supporting Ashnikko.

Abby and Tyrone will move from their triple j Breakfast programme to the event’s DJ booth. Their inclusion gives the opening night a radio connection, with the pair bringing their own selections to the programme.

The April event shifts towards R&B and globally influenced club music, led by Larissa Lambert. Born in Ballarat, Lambert will make a rare Melbourne appearance performing material from her debut album Yearning. Her profile has grown through online performances and international attention, positioning the singer as one of the Australian artists seeking to establish a broader audience in contemporary R&B.

ZIPPORAH, a Samu and Suy woman from Saibai Island in the Torres Strait, brings her cultural heritage and soulful vocal style to the line-up. Her background in performance has informed an approach that keeps her Torres Strait and Australian identities central to her work.

DJ 1SA, a Filipina-Chilena artist raised in Melbourne, draws on R&B, hip hop, Latin, Afro and other global sounds. She also runs the community event Kapwa, which celebrates cultural connections through music.

The contrasting programmes establish SUPAGLOO as a multi-genre series rather than a showcase tied to one particular sound.

The decision to schedule the events around school and university holidays gives SUPAGLOO a clear audience focus. The all-ages format is designed to make live music accessible to younger fans, including those who may not yet have regular access to licensed venues.

For emerging artists, a dedicated concert series offers another opportunity to develop a live following. Festival appearances, support slots and online exposure can introduce new performers to listeners, but a recurring event centred on developing talent can provide a different setting in which audiences discover artists they might not otherwise encounter.

The longer-term impact will depend on how consistently the series operates, the strength of its future line-ups and whether it attracts audiences beyond the established fan bases of the performers. The first two events provide an initial test of the concept, with the organisers planning further editions during 2027.

SUPAGLOO’s visual identity has been created by Victorian designer Sunnie Kuan, founder of Cheeky Noot Studio. The appointment extends the project’s emerging-talent focus beyond the performers to the creative work supporting the series.

The name itself references a song by Australian alternative rock band Magic Dirt. The band has a history of supporting all-ages performances, and the organisers say the reference reflects the community spirit associated with local music scenes.

SUPAGLOO’s first event takes place on 10 December 2026, followed by the R&B-focused programme on 2 April 2027. Both will be held at MCA at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, with tickets available through Frontier Touring’s official event page.
