Hotei Makes The Rolling Stones Respectable In Tokyo

The Rolling Stones welcomed Japan’s guitar great Tomoyasu Hotei as their special guest to perform ‘Respectable’ at their final show in Tokyo tonight.

Hotei has had more than 20 Top 10 albums in Japan making him a bigger recording star in the country than The Stones.

One of his racks ‘Battle Without Honor Or Humanity’ was featured on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’. Hotei has worked with David Bowie, Andy Mackay (Roxy Music), Jesus Jones, Brian Setzer, INXS, Blondie, Mike Stern, Asia, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), Ray Cooper, Joni Mitchell, David Sanborn, Darren Price (Underworld), Apocolyptica, Chris Spedding and Chicago.

Hotei joined The Stones for ‘Respectable’ from the 1978 ‘Some Girls’ album.
