Jimmy Barnes will release the fourth of his Soul albums ‘Soul Searchin’ in June and then follow through with a national tour in August.

‘Soul Searchin’ goes deeper than the previous three albums ‘Soul Deep’ (1991), ‘Soul Deeper’ (2000) and The Rhythm and the Blues’ (2009) to introduce some rarely heard soul classics to Australian fans.

“The idea was to find more obscure soul songs that people may not have heard – the diamonds in the rough,” Jimmy said. “I was just looking and looking for songs that for one reason or another were skipped over or they were too hard for radio or the singer was cross-eyed – for whatever reason, these songs were missed. I can’t wait to get to sing these songs again when I take.

A few of the songs, like ‘Mustang Sally’, ‘Suspicious Minds’ and ‘In The Midnight Hour’ are better known.

‘Soul Searchin’ was recorded at the legendary Grand Victor Studio in Nashville, built in 1965 for Chet Atkins.

Guests on the album include Steve Cropper and Dan Penn as well as local legends The Memphis Boys.
