The Sydney band preview their November live album and concert film with a sweeping orchestral take on ‘Money’, recorded across three sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Lime Cordiale have released a live orchestral version of ‘Money’ featuring the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, recorded at the Sydney Opera House, and confirmed the full live album and concert film will arrive on 6 November.
The single, titled ‘Money’ (ft. Sydney Symphony Orchestra [Live From The Sydney Opera House]), serves as the first taste of Lime Cordiale with Sydney Symphony Orchestra Live from Sydney Opera House. The project was captured across three sold-out performances at the venue, with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vanessa Scammell and lead arrangements by Alex Turley.
The release goes beyond a standard live album. It includes a full-length longform concert film, individual song clips, a special edition vinyl pressing and a complete digital release. The orchestral treatments expand the band’s catalogue into broader cinematic arrangements while keeping the core of the songs intact.

Louis and Oli Leimbach have long drawn from mixed musical worlds. Raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches by an English cellist mother and a filmmaker father, the brothers grew up around classical music, art and storytelling. Clarinet, trumpet, concert bands and orchestras formed part of their early training. In that light the Opera House shows feel less like a sudden shift and more like a natural extension of where they started.
Lime Cordiale have built a substantial profile with three studio albums, 12 ARIA Award nominations and two ARIA wins, including Breakthrough Act and Best Live Act. They have also notched two number one ARIA albums with 14 Steps To A Better You and Enough Of The Sweet Talk. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra project documents a high point in their live evolution, presenting familiar material with greater scale and emotional range.
The performances were fully filmed inside the Concert Hall. The resulting package aims to let audiences experience the collaboration beyond those three nights, whether through the album, the film or the physical edition. Arrangements by Alex Turley and the presence of the full orchestra under Vanessa Scammell give the songs new textures without erasing the band’s characteristic wit and melodic directness.
The brothers have previously brought the same orchestral approach to stages in other cities. The Sydney Opera House run sits as the centrepiece of that chapter, now preserved for release. For a band that has moved easily between festival stages and more formal settings, the project captures both ambition and continuity.
Lime Cordiale remain active on the road in the lead-up to the album’s arrival. Upcoming dates include Halloween DJ sets on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast at the end of October, followed by Queenscliff Music Festival in Victoria and a show at FORMA in New South Wales later in November.
The 6 November release of Lime Cordiale with Sydney Symphony Orchestra Live from Sydney Opera House offers a permanent record of three nights that brought the band’s catalogue into a different acoustic and visual frame. The ‘Money’ single provides an early window into that world.
