Tom Hanks is looking forward to the “rock and roll” experience when he hits the road for his wife Rita Wilson’s music tour.

Rita, a successful actress and singer, heads on tour at the end of the month following the release of her self-titled album last Friday (11Mar16).

And while two-time Oscar winner Tom has a busy work schedule, he’s making time to join his 59-year-old wife on the road.

“I’m going to hop on and off that bus,” Tom beamed to Entertainment Tonight.”I’m not going to miss out on the rock and roll tour bus experience.”

Tom, 59, also jokes that he has his bag packed with everything a wannabe rockstar could need.

“I’ve got a lava lamp all ready to plug in, I got some black light posters,” he said, with Rita chiming in that the, “Drug of choice is chocolate.”

The happy couple also revealed that the secret to sustaining their relationship is generally keeping their work lives and married lives separate.

“(Movies are) our lives day in and day out. So, we really don’t talk about it much,” Tom shared. “I run away from my responsibilities as a producer every chance I get.”

On Tuesday (15Mar16) night the couple also appeared at the New York premiere of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, on which they both served as producers.

“I think it’s kind of extraordinary that we got the entire cast back together again,” Rita said of the sequel to the 2002 hit film, which she also produced. “Nia (Vardalos) wrote a script that was the right script for this time in life, so I think that the sequel actually has a real authenticity to it. And it’s damn funny!”

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 hits theatres from 23 March (16).
