A new trailer and poster have been released for Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, the documentary following Liam and Noel Gallagher as Oasis returned to the stage for the Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour. The film will screen in IMAX and cinemas across Australia and New Zealand from September 10, with tickets going on sale Friday, August 21, before streaming exclusively on Disney+ later this year.

The trailer makes the relationship between the Gallagher brothers central to the film, revisiting the circumstances that ended Oasis in 2009 and the uncertainty surrounding their decision to perform together again. Noel questions whether the reunion could “fall apart again”, while other voices recall the long-running friction between the brothers and the difficulty of reconciling their past.

The documentary was created by BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated writer, producer and director Steven Knight, best known for Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, whose previous music documentaries include Shut Up and Play the Hits and Meet Me in the Bathroom, directed the film. Disney’s official film information confirms that it combines rehearsal, backstage and onstage footage with joint interviews with Liam and Noel.

The trailer presents the reunion as more than a return to the concert stage. It focuses on what had to happen between two brothers whose relationship had been at the centre of Oasis since the band’s formation.

Archival commentary recalls Oasis at the height of its fame and the extraordinary scale of its popularity. The new footage then moves into the preparations for Oasis Live ’25, where the prospect of Liam and Noel sharing a stage again is repeatedly questioned.

“Will it fall apart again?” Noel asks in the trailer, reflecting the uncertainty that surrounded the reunion before the first shows. Another moment addresses the difficulty of forgiveness, while Noel also acknowledges the emotional effect of seeing the audience respond to the songs.

The film’s central interviews are particularly significant. Liam and Noel have not sat together for a joint interview for more than two decades, making the conversations one of the documentary’s principal new elements. The filmmakers have also been given access to rehearsals, backstage activity and performances, providing material beyond a conventional concert film.

Oasis Live ’25 marked the first sustained run of performances by Liam and Noel Gallagher together since Oasis ended in 2009. The reunion became one of the defining music stories of 2025, bringing the band’s catalogue back into the centre of popular culture while introducing Oasis to audiences who were not old enough to experience the group’s original peak.

The documentary follows that tour from behind the scenes as well as from the stage. The trailer moves between the brothers discussing their history and footage of large crowds singing Oasis songs, including “Champagne Supernova” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.

The latter song provides the film with its title and becomes an important motif in the trailer. Its repeated chorus is heard over footage of the reunion, connecting the song’s long-standing place in the Oasis catalogue with the circumstances of the band’s return.

Steven Knight has described the film as a story about the brothers, the band and the audience that has carried Oasis music across generations. The official Disney description similarly positions the documentary around the relationship between the reunion and the emotional response of fans around the world.

Oasis emerged from Manchester in the early 1990s and became one of Britain’s most commercially significant rock bands during the Britpop era. Albums including Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? established Liam’s voice and Noel’s songwriting as the defining combination of the group.

The band’s original run produced songs including “Wonderwall”, “Live Forever”, “Champagne Supernova” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger”. Their growing international audience also established Oasis as a stadium-level act, with the Gallagher brothers’ increasingly public disagreements becoming inseparable from the band’s wider story.

That tension ultimately contributed to the band’s 2009 split. Noel departed Oasis following a confrontation around the Rock En Seine festival in Paris, bringing the group’s original era to an abrupt conclusion.

The possibility of a reunion remained a recurring subject for fans for years. Oasis finally confirmed the Oasis Live ’25 concerts, ending a period in which Liam and Noel had pursued separate musical careers.

Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger is produced by Magna Studios and presented by Sony Music Vision in association with Sony Music Entertainment UK. Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley are the producers, with Steven Knight among the executive production team.

The technical team includes cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos and Oscar-winning sound mixers James Mather and Tarn Willers, while George Cragg and Martina Zamolo are the editors.

The film will receive its world premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival before its wider cinema release. In Australia and New Zealand, the theatrical opening is scheduled for September 10, followed by its Disney+ streaming release later in 2026.

The new trailer therefore sets up a film concerned as much with reconciliation and memory as with Oasis onstage. For the Gallagher brothers, the reunion created an opportunity to revisit the relationship that shaped the band’s history. For audiences, the documentary records what happened when that history was tested again in front of the world.
